Resumen

La relación entre mito y catástrofe es útil para analizar la cinematografía de Werner Herzog. Tomando como referencia esta relación, y focalizándose en el tratamiento narrativo dado a los personajes y a los paisajes, este artículo compara esta cinematografía con algunos ejemplos del cine latinoamericano contemporáneo. Se demuestra así que el cine latinoamericano que resuena con el tono de catástrofe del cine de Werner Herzog tiende más hacia la desmitificación que hacia el mito.

Biografía del autor/a

David Antonio Jurado González, Universidad Paris-Sorbonne

Maestro en Estudios cinematográficos por la Universidad Paris Denis Didrot Paris-7 y doctor en Estudios hispánicos por la Universidad Paris-Sorbonne. Actualmente es profesor asociado al Laboratorio de Estudios Interdisciplinarios sobre los Mundos Ibéricos Contemporáneos (CRIMIC) de la Universidad Paris-Sorbonne. Sus intereses académicos se centran en el estudio de la relación entre cine y memoria, cine y catástrofe en america latina, así como en el cine francés y alemán contemporáneo.
